For a US trader who wants dollar-denominated event exposure — economic data especially — Kalshi is the straightforward venue: a CFTC-designated contract market since 2020, with a written settlement rule per market and segregated customer funds. Polymarket is now two products: a separate CFTC-regulated US exchange launched in late 2025 on an acquired license, with a narrower, sports-led list, and the original crypto-native international platform, which has the widest menu and the deepest headline liquidity but settles by decentralized oracle and is geoblocked for US users. Disclosure: we integrate with Kalshi and with neither Polymarket product.
